Top 5 Beauty Picks for a Gorgeous and Stress Free Holiday

It’s time for celebrations of all sorts, and that means you want to look pretty without breaking the bank or expending all your energy on your beauty routine! Here are my top 5 picks, so you can concentrate on having fun this holiday:

1. Dry Shampoo ~ It’s a must, because it can help up-do’s hold their shape and can also keep you from having to shampoo your hair as often. (If you have color or any sort of chemical service on your hair, the less you wash it, the better and the more mileage you will get out of your service.) Beauty tip: Apply dry shampoo to temples and crown before you go to bed. Use your fingers to massage the product into the hair. In the morning brush thoroughly and style as desired. Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak Refeshing Dry Shampoo or Eufora Powder Lift are both great.

2. Lip and Cheek Stain ~ A multitasking product such as this will save you both time and money. Exfoliate your lips, then apply a stain product. Let this seep in while you do your other makeup or your hair. I like to use the same shade on my cheeks as it creates a sort of uniform base for your makeup look. You can apply lipstick or gloss over the stain and you can also layer powder or cream blush over it to give your cheeks lasting color. I love the shades from Three Custom Color Specialists.

3. Mineral Powder Foundation ~ A sweep of mineral powder will easily help even out skin tone, minus the masky foundation look that I so loathe! Foundation is for sure the most misused cosmetic product and if you merely do a light dusting, in a shade that matches your skin tone, over your forehead, nose, cheeks and chin, you can warm up your complexion while still looking naturally beautiful. I love FYF Flawless You Forever Impeccable Mineral Loose Powder.

4. At Home Hair Glaze ~ Spruce up your tresses without visiting the salon by using a hair glaze in the privacy of your own bathroom. Glaze products offer shine and help keep your color looking rich whether you have virgin hair or use any type of hair color. I’ve been using John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Luminous Color Glaze for years. There are many shades available and a clear version, as well.

5. Natural Mulitiasking Moisture Product ~ I use olive oil or coconut oil as a hair mask, cuticle oil, hand moisturizer, body moisturizer and foot treatment. Beauty tip: I pamper my feet using a foot file on dry feet, then using an exfoliating scrub, rinsing and applying a thick layer of olive oil or coconut oil and wearing thick socks to bed. The feet I wake up with the next morning feel and look better than when I pay for a ‘professional’ pedicure. Save yourself some money! Try this every other week for a few months and you will be amazed at the power of your tootsies. You can buy the store brand of olive or coconut oil and get very effective results!

Enjoy the Season!
